An hour filled with some of my favourite songs right now.
Just over seven months ago I, with the help of Jordan Metcalf, Michael Tymbios and a few other folks, started a project called cttype. The aim was to crowdsource images of the unique letterforms found in and around Cape Town using the #cttype hashtag—much like similar projects in New York City and London.
To say that we’ve been blown away by the response is an understatement. We’ve received over 1 300 submissions to date, via the blog and instagram, with the number and quality of submissions growing each week.
If you are one of the kind folks that have already tagged your photos with our hashtag—thank you! And if you live in and around Cape Town, or are planning to visit us sometime soon, keep a look out for those unique letterforms in our city and remember to share your photos with us.
I suggested to Karen that we take photos of all the river signs on our way back from St. Francis Bay to Cape Town a few weeks ago. Why? Just because.
It wasn’t biggie we thought, not realising that there were 54 of them. Well, we ended up missing two, but managed to get a batch of 52 together. Check them all out at http://riversigns.tumblr.com.
Eight songs that I’m really enjoying right now:
Nineteen tracks of goodness. A slow-builder with a pretty upbeat ending.
Hopefully you discover something new.
